DAY OF THE DEAD CELEBRATION
This particular Day of the Dead Experience will start in the afternoon, picking guests up at the previously agreed upon spot.
We will arrive at Lorenza Taboada’s house, a renowned traditional Oaxacan Cook, who will welcome us with some drinks.
Then we´ll visit Irma´s field (Lorenza´s sister) to collect what we are gonna use in our Ofrenda and Cooking Class.
Upon returning to Lorenza’s house, we will begin with the creation of the Altar de Muertos (ofrenda).
Lorenza will start with the Oaxacan Chocolate Demo to have a cup of hot chocolate with traditional bread.
Is time for our Cooking Class, we are going to cook Mole Negro (Black Mole), which is the most important in Oaxaca and very special on these dates also we´ll cook other traditional dishes of the season and all attendees will be able to participate in the class.
We will finish the visit to Lorenza’s house with a special dinner of Mole Negro, Hot Chocolate, and other drinks.
As the night falls, the time to visit El Panteon (Graveyard) has arrived !! Where we can see how locals celebrate their deceased relatives.
